Accomplishments

TEST SCORES AND ACADEMIC ENHANCEMENTS

1. Driving Higher Test Scores & Closing Achievement Gaps

I established the Accountability and Goals Subcommittee, which has already contributed to:

  • Higher Math and English/Language Arts and Science scores.
  • Achievement gaps closing significantly across most subgroups (Special Education, English Learners and Socioeconomically Disadvantaged).
  • Data-driven planning that keeps Temecula competitive.
  • Temecula remains #1 in Riverside County.
  • Strong academics protect both our kids’ futures and our home values.

2. Ensuring Fair, Consistent, Honest Grading

  • I created the Grading Practices Subcommittee to stop grade inflation and ensure grading consistency across schools.

A grade should reflect mastery — not inflation, not inconsistency.

  • Kept the bar high in resisting a vote to change a 30-year policy to keep a passing grade at the high school level to a "C" and not a "D".

3. Reinforcing Civics & Constitutional Literacy

  • I reinstated the Constitution and Civics test for 8th grade.
  • I believe every student should understand the foundations of our nation and their rights and responsibilities as future citizens.

CURRICULUM • RIGOR • AGE APPROPRIATENESS

4. Curriculum Oversight & Review

I serve on both the Secondary Curriculum Committee and the Parental Advisory Committee to ensure curriculum remains:

  • Rigorous
  • Age-appropriate
  • Academically aligned
  • Transparent for families

SPECIAL EDUCATION • FAMILY PARTNERSHIP • SUPPORT

5. Strengthening SPED Services & Communication

I launched the Special Education Subcommittee, which has resulted in:

  • Greater collaboration between families and the district.
  • More specialized safety training for teachers.
  • Moves toward hiring more specialized personnel in the classroom.
  • Strengthened transitions for students going from elementary to middle, middle to high school and high school to post-secondary opportunities.
  • These improvements matter to families who have waited years to be heard.

SAFETY • FACILITIES • STUDENT WELL-BEING

6. Direct Action on Campus Safety

  • I personally participated in multiple campus safety site visits and risk assessments with our Director of Safety and Security to identify and correct problems.
  • Fixed the baseball back stops at Temecula Middle School where baseballs were flying through the back stops and hitting community members watching little league games.

7. Working with the City for Safer Access Routes

  • Actively worked with city officials to ensure students can enter campuses safely, including from bike paths and surrounding areas that previously posed risks, particularly at Chaparral High School.
  • Safety is not a talking point. It is work. And I’ve been doing that work.

FISCAL OVERSIGHT • USE OF TAXPAYER FUNDS

8. Protecting Taxpayer Dollars & Preventing Legal Waste

  • I have been extremely focused on ensuring money is spent wisely creating the Board Budget Priorities Subcommittee — especially when it comes to legal costs and district expenditures.
  • Our community expects responsibility, not waste.

TRANSPARENCY • NEUTRALITY • FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

9. Parental Notification and Legal Transparency

  • Helped develop successful and common-sense parental notification policies focused on transparency, nondiscrimination, while avoiding the costly lawsuits that have drained Temecula taxpayer dollars in the past (millions of dollars that should have gone to our students and instead went to lawyers).

10. Developed Clear Talking Points for Neutral Classrooms

  • These talking points are currently being negotiated with the Teachers Association and are designed to ensure classrooms stay focused on academics — not political, social, or ideological agendas.
  • This negotiation is necessary to prohibit more unfair labor practice charges by the association which has cost the district six-figures in legal fees.
  • Parents deserve clarity, and students deserve neutral learning environments.

CAREER TECHNICAL READINESS • CTE OPPORTUNITIES

11. Expanding Student Employment Opportunities

  • Worked with the BASES and CTE departments to expand job opportunities for high school students, especially those needing after-school income or work experience.
  • Those opportunities created more space for working families to utilize our before and after school programs.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

12. Fighting for Access to Free Drug-Prevention Programs

  • Successfully fought for and advocated strongly for free drug and alcohol support programs for families. Too many families in our community need access to prevention, intervention, and help (most board members voted against this proposal).

13. Bond Survey

I voted yes on the bond because our students deserve safe, modern, well-maintained schools (some board members voted against). Our current bond money has been allocated and there is no more money. This bond will:

  • Protect property values
  • Fix aging infrastructure
  • Improve safety
  • Upgrade technology
  • Ensure equity across campuses

Investing in our facilities is investing in our kids — and in the future of Temecula.

P.E. REDESIGN & MIXED-SPACE CONCERNS

14. Addressing P.E. Space Issues for Student Safety and Privacy

  • I am working toward redesigning P.E. approaches to better address challenges in mixed-use or mixed-space environments.
  • Students deserve safe, respectful, comfortable spaces.

FORWARD-THINKING LEADERSHIP:

Artificial Intelligence

15. I Supported the Introduction of AI Tools for Students & Staff

I voted to bring AI technology into the district to:

  • Improve learning
  • Support teachers
  • Reduce workload
  • Prepare students for the future workforce

This was a strategic, future-focused decision that positions our district at the forefront of innovation (not all board members voted for this type of forward-thinking strategy).

I ran to restore accountability, protect students, support families, elevate academic excellence while ensuring fiscal responsibility. This year, I’ve delivered measurable results in all of those areas — and I will continue fighting for every student, every family, and every taxpayer in Temecula Valley.
